Come here for latest movements in Doccler land, updates on the platform, the community, what we are up to and where we are going.

Hello all,

We have decided to remove the community functionality from Doccler.. A bold move, but we have decided to focus on making Doccler a brilliant writing platform.

The communities did provide us with lots of entertainment but we think it's the right decision. To help keep Doccler cohesive we have created a new topics page.

Long live the topic!

Many thanks,

Doccler

lol, did people actually use the communities? I gave it a go when I first joined, but never gave it much thought after that xD

I never actually used the communities, the topics idea is great though. You can read what you feel like without having to sift through stuff. Just my opinion.

KingFred: That's why we removed them, the original idea for Doccler was to create a hierarchy of communities with journals being added and content rising through sub-communities to their parents. This was sadly too complex, the journals became more popular, we removed the ability to add journals to communities and the two became disparate. The communities were the less popular of the two.. It turns out we can achieve a similar effect with the use of topics. These will now form the glue between different users and journals..

Monique: We didn't either :) so anyway it's clearer, and better for writing that we just have one element..

Hi Joe, just wondering if there is a way to delete Journals? I accidentally created a new one every time I wanted to post, thinking that was how you did it! Foolish of me.

joe July 11, 2014 01:07PM

not at the moment! There really should be, it's very high on our list of features. I will remove your journals for you. Thanks!

Yay. Thank you!

Hey Joe, me hounding you again about the Doccler app? How's that working out or back burning for now? In any event, love the site, keep up the amazing work!

Hi Monique, it will be one of the the next big releases that we do. We are working on an API to make accessing the data from other clients like phone apps easier. Out of interest what would be the minimum requirement you would have for a phone. Writing posts quickly or reading other peoples work?
